We Need to Talk About This Disney Collection...

9.24.2018

This is not a ColourPop blog I swear. It just so happens that they have several releases in a year and their Graphic Design team KILL it every dang time. Also, Disney. All the photos you see are taken from the ColourPop website or Instagram page unless noted otherwise. They do have a preview section set up for all of the items which is where I grabbed these product photos from. I want to share the items in the collection and what I for sure want to pick up (because I doubt I'll be able to afford what I really want from this collection.) 😂😂😂 So let's get started!

The full collection will be available on Friday, September 28 at 10am PST or 12pm Central Time. It will include 6 Lux Lipsticks, 3 Ultra Glossy Lips, 2 Super Shock Cheeks, 6 Super Shock Shadows, and a 15 pan Pressed Eyeshadow Palette. There will be a couple bundle options on launch day and I assume they will make other bundles available either on launch day or in the near future.

There will be 6 new Lux Lipsticks, which are a new product to the ColourPop family this year. There will be a color for each of the following Disney princesses: Tiana, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Snow White and Cinderella. Each lipstick bullet is gold instead of their usual rose gold bullets. On the cap of the lipstick bullet features the princesses signatures in white. Each individual color comes in a custom box packaging featuring a modern, fashion-esque depiction of each princess; which is absolutely stunning and cute! I think that's the part where it ties in the "designer" part of the Disney Designer Collection. (You can learn more about the Disney Designer Collection here, where they are creating these dolls you see as sketches!) There are also little starbursts on the packaging that are in complimentary colors to each princess as well! I just love the attention to every detail!

The Lux Lipsticks will retail at $7.00 each.

You can top off your new Lux Lipstick with a new Ultra Glossy Lip to give you that ultimate princess pout. There will be three new Ultra Glossy Lips in the shades Bibbidi, Bobbidi, Boo. C'mon! How perfect are these names?! If you haven't noticed yet, I am dying over everything this collection has going on! Bibbidi is going to be a sheerer gloss with a golden sheen to it so it's going to give you ultimate juicy lips and shine. Think Cinderella glass slippers. Bobbidi is going to offer a little more pigment with a "soft coral" tint. Boo is described as a warm rose. All three are very wearable shades for all skin tones.

The packaging is a clear tube with a gold cap, different from their typical silver cap and printing. The tube features the same little starbursts or sparkles that are throughout the packaging in this collection. The box packaging is matte black with the princess' signatures in a glossy embossing. I think it keeps this collection very elegant, chic and timeless. Much like the Disney princesses!

The Ultra Glossy Lips will retail at $6.00 each.

Next up are the two new Super Shock Cheek Highlighters: A Smile & A Song and Part of Your World. THESE NAMES ARE SO CUTE. A Smile and A Song is a light gold, definitely suitable for a wide range of skin tones. Part of Your World is a silvery pink, perfect for those that like a more unique highlighter shade. The packaging of these is very girly and simple! The plastic highlighter containers are black, instead of their typical white, and the lid features a version of what looks like Cinderella's castle in gold. The cardboard package is full matte gold with colored and  gloss starbursts/sparkles scattered on it. Very beautiful!

The Super Shock Highlighters will retail at $8.00 each.

There will be six new Super Shock Shadows, one for each Disney princess in the line-up. We've got four wearable, every day shades and two pops of color, of course. Heigh Ho is an ivory pearl base, packed with multi dimensional glitter. The perfect Snow White shade. Cinderella's shade is a frosted soft pink called So This is Love. I would have liked to see a stunning blue based shadow with silver and gold glitter in it - a perfect glass slipper color. If you like an all over bronze shadow Tiana's shad in Almost There will be your go-to! It's a deep bronze/brown with silver glitter making it quite unique compared to your typical bronze. Be Our Guest will match Belle's lipstick perfectly! This berry pink shadow looks similar to her Lux Lipstick, but it features a blue and violet sheen that will give it a little twist. Ariel's shade, aptly named Under the Sea, is a bright seafoam green with a golden sheen to it, which looks exactly like the princess' mermaid tail! A Whole New World adds color and sparkle to  round out the collection. Jasmine's shade is a beautiful lavender base with pink, silver, and baby blue glitter to make it as beautiful as the princess herself!

The packaging on the Super Shock Shadows is the same as that of the Super Shock Highlighters. Full matte gold packaging, featuring glossy starbursts and colored starbursts throughout.

The Super Shock Shadows will retail at $5.00 each.

Maybe the fairest product of them all, a 15 pan pressed eyeshadow palette! ColourPop pressed eyeshadows are SO good! I've talked about several palettes here on my blog and have used them on my YouTube channel as well. They are so affordable and great quality. What I like most about this one, obviously, is the stunning packaging and beautiful range of shades.

The outer cardboard packaging is a matte gold with glossy princess signatures, starbursts, and the Disney Designer Collection embossed front and center. So gorgeous I could (and probably would) display this in my beauty room. The palette packaging is even more eye catching. The palette is black featuring the same gold and colored starbursts as the other packaging details we have seen, but this also features each of the princess illustrations. This is the only item in the collection that features all six illustrations on one package. Which makes sense because the palette is meant to reflect all of the princesses. I just love seeing all of them together with their different colored dresses and era styles. It's truly a beautiful work of art and design to me.

The interior of the palette is gold where the eyeshadow pans are placed. Each of the eyeshadows are named according to characters or things from the featured princesses movies and are directly under each shade. On the interior of the cover are each of the princess' signatures in gold against a black background and colored starbursts.

Each shadow is beautifully chosen to not only work in the palette as a whole, but they also pair well with their names. This palette is a beautiful mix of day to night shades, mattes and metallics, and pops of color. I think it would work perfectly for the girl who is on the natural side that might want a few options to add some dazzle to her look. Or even the bolder girl that isn't afraid of color and sparkle. You could easily pair this with the Super Shock Shadows as well!

The palette will retail at $20.00.

Now that we broke down all the product in the collection, here are a couple of bundle options that are already on the preview page. That means these will be available when this collection goes live on Friday. They are a little different from each other and based on what kind of packaging you want would basically be your deciding factor.

The first option is the complete PR Box, which is the same thing that they send to influencers for them to swatch and share on their social media account or blogs, etc. This is the item that I think I would really LOVE to have, but I'll tell you why I am torn between the two bundles available. The PR Box is clearly a collector's piece. Each princess illustration is created as a little pop inside the box. They are larger and you can see details and appreciate the artwork even better. The castle is featured on the interior and easily seen behind the Disney Designer Collection logo because it is made glossy on a matte black background.

Inside the PR Box you will receive the It's a Princess Thing Palette, all three Ultra Glossy Lips, Fairytale Moment Super Shock Eyeshadow Quad, and Kiss The Girl Lux Lipstick bundle in it's own packaging. This is where I am torn. I adore this complete PR Box and collector's item, but would also like the individual Lux Lipsticks packages that feature each Disney princess on their own lipstick.

The PR Box will retail at $120.00.
(Ariel Lux Lip was missing from her package.)

The next bundle option available would be the Disney Designer Collection Set. This set includes all six Super Shock Shadows - instead of just four - all three Ultra Glossy Lips, It's a Princess Thing Palette, and all six Lux Lipsticks in their individual packaging. This is what they would call the "full" collection, although the two Super Shock Cheek Highlighters aren't included in either of these bundles. I believe that in some past collections, the Super Shock Cheek items haven't always been included in these "full" collection bundles either. You'll save a little money this way and if you're not into collection packaging then you don't have to worry about the bulky PR box.

The Disney Designer Collection will retail at $110.00.

So here is a breakdown of what I would purchase from this collection! I for sure would love to have the PR Box as a collector's item! I'm just completely blown away by the design and details and passion that went into creating every item. I also would pick up three of the Lux Lipsticks separately because I really want the individual packages of Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle. I probably would gift or resell these three lipsticks so I would have two of each, but I could keep the outer packaging for collecting purposes. Is that crazy? Maybe just a little, but I just adore this design work so much! And lastly I would pick up one of the Super Shock Cheek Highlighters in A Smile and A Song. I imagine that this highlighter would work best for me and I would really like to have at least one for collecting purposes as well.

PHEW!!! That was a lot to cover, but I've sure enjoyed looking at it and sharing it with you here! How do you feel about this collaboration? Do you think it's chic and classy or is it missing the mark for you? Would you pick anything up from this collection?

Thank you so much for letting me share more ColourPop with you! Haha! If anything I hope you enjoyed seeing some Disney inspired makeup and beautiful design work here today! Now I need to go search the couch for money if I want to get those items! 😬😬😬
