Have you ever seen a more beautiful highlighter?! No really, have you? I am head over heels in LOVE with this Smashbox & Vlada collaboration. The second I saw this packaging I knew I had to add it to my collection. I thought it was time to share the photos I captured before I began using it (it looks just as gorgeous on the skin, too!) So this post is simply to share the beauty of makeup itself and the appreciation I have for great packaging and great product design. Please enjoy!
This metallic pink, three-dimensional rose packaging literally made me grasp the first time I saw it released on Instagram. This packaging is completely worthy of being displayed on a shelf - which I plan to do! I'm not much of a pink person but this packaging is just so stunning. This truly is a collector's piece, but I did at least want to get a highlighter shade that I could use. Although, the actual highlighter is just as stunning, I knew I should get some use out of it. This is a $32 highlighter, but luckily I had a birthday gift card for Ulta and waited for a 20% off discount as well!
This shade, Gilded Rose, is such a gorgeous champagne/gold base with a beautiful pink pearlescent. Although in the pan it looks pretty golden, it's the light pink pearls that catch the light. I'm not saying this is a pink highlighter, because it's not. It doesn't look pink on the skin it just has a subtle pink shift to it. The formula feels a little dry to touch, but it's so smooth and easily buildable. If you were to dampen your highlighting brush with a little spray it would definitely make this an intense highlighter. I love how this looks both under direct sunlight and indirect.
