Wet N Wild Rosé in the Air Palette // Swatches & Review

2.16.2019

If you love warm, romantic tones I think this Wet N Wild palette would be perfect for you! It's a great drugstore palette and is even known to be a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I have always enjoyed the original Wet N Wild eyeshadow formula, but this is one of their new, reformulated palettes. They also have a new version of their well known Comfort Zone palette. I'm really enjoying this new layout and color story for their updated eyeshadow palettes! So let's look at what's inside!

This palette really has a beautiful color story and I just love it! It's a very warm palette with gorgeous orange and rosey tones, hence the name Rosè in the Air. There's a pretty decent range of shades and tones in here, although it is a little matte heavy. There are only 2 shimmer/satin shades in this palette, so you may want to pair this with something that has more shimmers or metallics if that's your thing. But if you're a matte eyeshadow loving gal, then you'll definitely be happy with this little palette! Some of these mattes do feel a little on the dry side and almost all of them are powdery. So expect fall out on your face when applying these eyeshadows. It'd be best to do your eye look first and then finish the rest of your face.

I built these swatches up so you could see the color range and capability of these shadows. Although some of them feel dry to touch, you can work with them and get some great eyeshadow looks from this palette. I would definitely say the two shimmer shades perform best in this palette, although that don't have a super intense payoff like I would prefer. I think the worst performing shades would have to be the pink cranberry shade, the lilac and the two cool toned browns. They are probably the most dry shades and could potentially be pretty patchy if you don't take your time with them.

Overall, this may not be the most beginner friendly palette. Since the formula is more on the dry side it could be difficult to blend and work with for someone who isn't familiar with eyeshadow application. Blending takes more time than people realize! I think I'll be happy with using this palette as a replacement for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. So if you're a newbie, it might take some time to figure this palette formula out. But if you've got pretty good blending skills then this should be no problem for you! That wraps it up on this palette! If you have any questions or would like to see this palette in use just let me know!
